The best moments are the ones at the ocean…the colors, the wind in my hair, the smell of salt and sand between my toes… ♥ No wonder that I took mostly pictures of the Atlantic during the two weeks in the Cape region…
Cape of good hope / Diaz Beach
On the way to Hermanus
Simonstown/ Boulders Beach
Hey everybody, I’m back again…two wonderful weeks in the beautiful Cape region are over. More pics to come soon 😉
This is the last part of our wonderful journey. We spent a day and a night in the Tankwa National Park and it was great! I hope to go back soon 😀
I never expected to see so many wild animals in the Karoo national park…already behind the first bend we saw some reds hartebeest, a little further on we found a herd mountain zebras and we also spotted Oryx, Baboons, Springboks, Ostriches, Gemsboks, Stenbok, Kudus and Burchell’s Zebras.
Only the lion living in the park was missing.
This part of our journey was my favorite one…on the road with a 4×4 Toyota, tents on top, free, independent, sleeping in the wild, cooking on open fire…a feeling of freedom!
We started in Somerset West and went south…
Our first camp in the wild with a stunning sunset and very curious little neighbours 🙂
The road to „Di hell“ … if this is hell, nobody has to be afraid to get there!
Out of the hell we continued our journey in direction Prince Albert
A playground for every man! But to be honest, I had as much fun as the guys! 😀
Our last night in the wild! We found the best place ever, somewhere in the mountains…simply wonderful!
The best road sign! When tarmac ends and gravel starts, yippieeeeeh!
Sooo many pics from South Africa…I would love to show you at least a few of them, so let’s start with „in and around Capetown“ this wonderful city at the end of the african continent 😀
The V&A Waterfront
Always a busy place, but this New Year’s Eve we hardly got something to eat…
Happy new year from the top of Lion’s Head!
My favorite place 😉
Always worth a visite: Kirstenbosch National Botanic Gardens
For all vine lovers: visite the Waterford Estate in Stellenbosch and taste their excellent Chardonnay
There are many parcs and enclosures around Capetown, like the Cheetah Outreach in Strand where you can watch and learn about the beautiful wildlife of South Africa.
As you might already know, I love hiking and climbing on top of big mountains. And Helderberg mountain is always a challenge I love to do 😀
Another hike on my bucket list was the Tablemountain via Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. And this time we did it! It was exhausting and hot, but the feeling on top was just marvelous!
And the last pictures for this post can’t show the fun we had that day! Bathing in the cold Atlantic, got washed off our feet by big waves and just enjoyed ourselfs so much!
