Karisimbi ♡ Ruanda

The hike on mount Karisimbi in Ruanda was the best outdoor experience I ever had.  The walk was super exhausting because of all the mud…maybe not the best idea to do it in rainy season! The first day I was struggling a lot, but I wanted to reach the basecamp. And I did it 😀
After a night in a tent on 3500 m we startet at 5:30 am for the summit: Me, Deo and Fidel + a group of soldiers to protect us. The guys helped me a lot! Physically and mentally…and finally we reached the top of the volcano on 4500m! I was super happy, a bit proud and very grateful for the help, for this opportunity and for my healthy body that brought me on top of Karisimbi.

Wissigstock…finally reached the summit

Already two times I tried to reached the top of Wissigstock…and two times I had to give up because of snow. But this time I made it! And it was absolutely worth it to make a last try and bear the cold wind and the pain in my feet. No words to describe the feelings on the summit ♥

We did it! The sporty goal in 2017 was the Mettelhorn in Switzerland, 3406 m high. And I just can not put into words how overwhelmed, proud and grateful I am! Overwhelmed by this magnificent landscape around Zermatt, the Alps, the nature and the enormous power that the mountains radiate. Proud because we have climbed a mountain that is demanding and strenuous, because we have overcome fears, because our invincible will has brought us there. And incredibly grateful because I could experience it with Heidi. Thank you so much for everything!
