Zambia – Vic Falls without water

From Botswana to Zambia we had to cross the Zambezi River. The short trip on Kazungula Ferry brought us to the border where we had to do all the paperwork and payments…an interesting experience! On the way to Livingston we already noticed that it was very dry…we were really looking forward to Victoria Falls with a thundering mist (In Zambia the Falls are called „Mosi-oa-Tunya“ – smog of the thunder!). But when we arrived we could hardly believe what we saw…alsmost no water! Only a small trickle…On the Zimbabwean side of the Falls we could see the white mist of the falling water…but it was too far away to impress. Slightly disappointed we decided to make the best of it and walk on the edge of the falls  😉
The rest of our stay in Zambia we spent at the pool of the Maramba River Lodge. A little break to wash some clothes, making plans for the next days and just relaxe a little bit before we moved on to Namibia!

  1. Memories… Awesome photos from this lovely place!!! Amazing to see the naked rocks, but it´s got something to it! If you want to see more water, you have to go there in July or August:
I´m looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful photos!
